Sharp ISE 2019 Booth Tour

ISE 2019 was an important event for Sharp Europe, where we not only launched our first 4K interactive Windows collaboration display, developed to meet Microsoft specifications, but also our second generation 8K monitor, alongside new digital signage and 4K interactive displays. Here we take a tour of the stand, highlighting the hero products that will be on sale in the coming months.

Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2019 played home to the Sharp Europe booth, where we created dedicated zones designed to demonstrate how Sharp visual solutions can help transform offices, classrooms and retail environments.

Our new 4K Windows Collaboration display

ISE was the first chance for customers in Europe to experience our new 4K Windows collaboration display, developed to meet Microsoft specifications. The next generation of interactive displays has been designed to support and improve team work by combining Sharp’s award-winning touch technology with sensors for a smarter workspace.

Regular live demonstrations showed how the Windows collaboration display can make meetings more productive and collaborative. The 70-inch display has been optimised to run Microsoft 365 at room scale, while the USB-C and wireless connections make it quick and easy to connect to, so speeding up the start of meetings and any changes of presenter.

The new Sharp BIG PAD TH1

ISE 2019 also saw us expand our range of BIG PAD interactive displays for the office. The new Sharp BIG PAD TH1 range initially comprises three models, 85-, 75- and 65-inch display sizes, all with a 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160 pixel) interactive display with 20-point touch. They support the latest InGlass technology for a highly responsive Pen-on-Paper experience. An integrated Android PC includes a whiteboard application and enables easy wireless connections to other devices.

Innovate

We created a special area, Innovate, designed to show the innovations around our 8K ecosystem, including a demonstration of the 8C-B60A 8K (60p) 8K professional camcorder, which integrates video shooting and recording, playback, and line output in one device.

The live and recorded output from the camera – shooting colourful body painting by artist Andrea Jackova – was shown on an 80-inch 8K monitor, the 8M-B80AX1E, which is our second generation 8K display, impressing visitors to the stand with its exceptional picture quality.

The 8K Video camera

We also displayed a compact 8K video camera prototype, which will make 8K available more widely. The compact camera features a Micro Four Thirds mount and a CMOS sensor capable of delivering 8K resolution at 30 fps using the H.265 codec.

Finally, in the Innovate area, Sharp partner Demodern ran a VR demonstration on a new Sharp PN-HW861 86-inch 4K monitor. The VR interactive showroom, designed for IKEA, allowed visitors to explore and configure furniture items within a virtual room in real-time.

Learn

The Learn zone of the Sharp ISE 2019 stand focused on interactive solutions for every stage of education, from early learning through to the latest in BIG PAD interactive displays for colleges and universities

New to the range, we showcased the Sharp BIG PAD HC1 range comprising three displays in 70-, 75- and 86-inch sizes. Each panel sports 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160-pixel) resolution displays with a range of connection options, including USB and HDMI, as well as an integrated whiteboard application. The 4K resolution and Sharp touch technology enables high resolution reading and highly responsive ‘Pen on Paper’ writing in fine detail.

Sharp’s ISE partner Qwizdom demonstrated its Oktopus teaching platform, which features more than 70 subject specific tools to enable teachers to bring their lessons to life, while College tutor and digital artist Paul Clarke was on hand to offer tips and techniques on using interactive displays in lessons.

Engage

The Engage zone was designed to showcase our latest products, services and applications to enhance the retail experience. This included models from our new 4K ranges.

The 4K Ultra-HD PN-HB and PN-HM models are large format digital signage displays that come in three sizes, ranging from 65-inch to 85-inches in size. They can be installed in portrait or landscape mode, as well as face-up, and can run a wide variety of partner applications using the embedded Android 7.1 SoC and a Mini-OPS extension slot.
The 4K Ultra-HD PN-HW professional displays will come in six screen sizes, ranging from 43-inch up to 86-inch in size, and come with a built-in USB media player for the easy application of content to your digital signage display.

Sharp’s software partner Cenareo managed the digital signage content for the stand, as well as running live demonstrations of facial detection software.

Also on the stand, software partner Videro ran live demonstrations of its software platforms on the new PN-HB and PN-HM models, showing how content and displays can be controlled via mobile devices.

All the displays on show at ISE 2019 will be on sale this year. If you missed ISE 2019 and would like to know more about how the new portfolio of visual solutions can help your business or classroom, Get In Touch for a demonstration.
