Sharp Europe Recognised as Leader in Quocirca’s Print Security Landscape 2024 Report

Sharp, a leading provider of business technology services and products, has been identified as a leader in Quocirca’s Print Security Landscape 2024 report.  This emphasises Sharp's development of its strong print security proposition across its hardware and services portfolio. The report provides a detailed analysis of the print security market in 2024, based on the views of 500 IT decision-makers across Europe and the US.

Quocirca’s report highlights Sharp's efforts to raise awareness among European SMEs about its consultative and layered security offerings, which align with the NIST Framework's core functions: Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, and Recover.

In addition, the report commends Sharp’s Complete Print Security – a subscription service that ensures MFPs are secure from the moment they are delivered to a business, throughout their operational life. This print security-as-a-service approach is a unique proposition in the market and positions Sharp as an industry leader in print security for SMEs.

Sharp is also the first OEM to integrate a native Microsoft Teams connector into its latest MFPs. This feature enables users to securely access, share, scan, and print data from Microsoft Teams, Google, and SharePoint channels without additional software. Additionally, Sharp’s recently launched Synappx Cloud Print management solution is designed with security in mind, supporting zero-trust environments and addressing the needs of hybrid and mobile workplaces.

Sharp has long been acknowledged as a leading player in the SME print market, offering a mature technology platform and a wide range of A4 and A3 products tailored to the needs of small-to-medium-sized businesses. The report praises Sharp for its strong IT security credentials and robust hardware-security features, noting that Sharp MFPs and printers include an extensive range of built-in security features with optional Bitdefender malware technology integration.

Sharp's print security solutions extend beyond direct customers to channel partners, a critical part of Sharp's route to market. Quocirca identifies that Sharp's approach is helping resellers to develop new ways of selling with differentiated security-led propositions.

While print security is a central focus of the report, Sharp is also recognised for offering a broad range of cybersecurity services, including user awareness training, incident response, and data recovery. These services, along with security audits, end-point security, cyber essentials accreditation, back-up, and disaster recovery, demonstrate Sharp's commitment to protecting SME operations and data.

Jason Cort, Director Product Planning & Marketing at Sharp Europe, says: “As Sharp transitions from a traditional print business to offering a diverse range of business technology services to meet the needs of the growing European SME market, this recognition reflects the significant strides we have made to provide enhanced security and differentiating our offerings.

“Innovation is at the core of our operations, and we are pleased to see our continued advancements being recognised by both customers and the industry.”
