Sharp today announces the addition of four new high-speed models to its colour Advanced and Essentials Series line-up, completing the product family of 14 models ranging from 26 to 60 pages per minute. The new models (MX-5051, MX-6051, MX-5071, MX-6071), designed for busy workgroups, include Sharp's award-winning, easy-to-use touchscreen display, common across the whole Sharp MX line-up, and add new security enhancements and cloud integration features.
New models designed for busy workgroups join Sharp's colour MFP line-up offering leading- edge security and greater cloud integration
The new colour Advanced and Essentials Series delivers robust security features, including a firmware attack prevention and a self-recovery capability, which can identify unwarranted changes and restore the machine firmware to its original state. An application whitelisting feature guards the machine's system and memory from any malware attacks. Additionally, administrators can centrally manage the device using Active Directory® Group Policy.
The new colour models also easily integrate with today's connected workplace and offer quick access to an expanded list of cloud services that include Box and Dropbox.
The inclusion of the very latest Adobe technology, the Adobe Embedded Print Engine (AEPER), provides users with greater accuracy and performance when directly printing PDF files from network, cloud or portable USB drive.
Sharp's new Application Portal allows administrators to add new cloud connectors and applications right from the touchscreen of the machine, and sends on screen notifications when there are updates to these applications, ensuring the device is always up to date. The new models are also equipped with enhanced productivity features, such as the ability to feed up to 50 envelopes from the standard paper drawer.
Rachel Dean, Product Business Manager, said, "The latest analyst reports suggest that print-related data loss costs larger businesses an average of £313,000 a year[1], which is why security continues to be at the centre of our product development. We are pleased to roll out this new line of high speed, high volume colour MFPs that deliver superior productivity, performance and ease-of-use without compromising on security.”
Sharp will also be launching a free data security guide for SMEs, developed with ethical hacker, Jens Müller. The free ‘Simple printer security for small businesses’ guide will be available to download from the Sharp website this spring, and includes easy-to-follow tips for those responsible for office technology.
